MAPPING & INDEXING – 3RD SPACE SERIES 01

A street level photographic mapping study of a large part of the city of Jingdezhen (China), leading to the selection of a specific defined territory with still existing borders and a palpable sense of community and identity that was distinct within the larger urban agglomeration. This was a part of various remote and ground studies in formulating a thesis that would eventually lead to surgical insertions across the urban territory, placed on the borderlands between the new and formal developments sweeping across the city and the existing historic and informal fabric being erased due to various forms of gentrification.
